Data Collection

Pick My Advisor collects only the necessary data to facilitate grievance resolution and legal consultations:

  • Civic Data: Ward information, complaint details, and evidence photos for routing to appropriate officials
  • Contact Information: Name, email, and phone number to communicate status updates and connect you with advisors
  • Payment Details: Processed securely via Razorpay for ₹99 Legal Notice and ₹499 Consultation services

Data minimization

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our services. Your information is never sold or used for advertising purposes.

Security & Data Protection

Your data is protected using enterprise-grade security protocols:

  • 256-bit Encryption: All data transmitted to and from our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS
  • Secure Dashboard: Admin metrics are protected with rate-limited authentication and audit logging
  • Session Tracking: Unique session IDs prevent duplicate counting and protect user privacy
  • Server-Side Caching: Optimized for performance while maintaining data integrity

Security protocols

Our dashboard implements rate limiting (5 attempts max), audit trails for all admin actions, and automatic session timeout for enhanced security.

Third Party Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your data. Your information is shared only in the following circumstances:

  • Official Governance Bodies: When you file a complaint, relevant details are routed to the appropriate ward official or department as requested by you
  • Legal Advisors: When you book a consultation, your contact information is shared with your chosen verified advocate or CA
  • Payment Processor: Razorpay processes payments securely — we do not store your card details

Your control

Data is shared with third parties only upon your explicit action (filing a complaint, booking a consultation). You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Evidence Photos & Location Data

Your Evidence Photos and Location Data are used solely for routing your complaint to the verified official's government email address. We do not use this data for any other purpose, nor do we share it with third parties.

The Sakala Shield

Complaints filed via the Smart Complaint Box are encrypted and sent via official government SMTP servers to ensure they are recognized as Digital Notices under the Information Technology Act and Sakala Services Act, 2011.

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:

  • Request access to all data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data at any time
  • Download all data associated with your account
  • Opt out of any communication
  • Modify or update your information

Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies only for authentication and session management. We use session-based visitor tracking for analytics (unique sessions, not page refreshes). With your explicit consent, we may collect your device location while you browse to show ward-matched civic services and live activity on our admin map — location is never collected without permission. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with ad networks.
